Legacy 35 - Vintage Rangefinder Camera | Game-Ready Prop

I created Legacy 35 as a personal project inspired by the charm and character of old vintage cameras. I’ve always loved how objects like these can feel as though they carry stories from another time, and I wanted to capture some of that feeling in this piece.

My goal was to create a camera that felt used, aged, and full of personality rather than perfectly new. I spent a lot of time working on the worn metal, textured leather, small engravings, decals, and subtle imperfections trying to make every bit of wear feel like it belonged there and had a reason behind it.

I also created a fictional identity for the camera, Legacy 35, along with custom branding and graphic details. This was one of my favorite parts of the project because it helped turn the model from just a 3D prop into something that felt like a real product with its own history.

For the final presentation, I wanted to explore two different sides of the asset. I created clean beauty renders to showcase the camera itself, as well as warmer, more cinematic shots focused on mood and storytelling. I experimented with lighting, composition, depth of field, and atmosphere to give the final images a nostalgic feeling.

This project was a really enjoyable opportunity for me to explore hard-surface modeling, texturing, lighting, and presentation, while also pushing myself to think beyond the technical side and give the asset a story and identity of its own.
